The machete-wielding Ocean ferry taxi man says he was just defending himself from a bully. As we told you last week Tuesday, two taxi-men, Cecil Buckley and Gerald Lewis got into a nasty brawl in front of the water taxi. Buckley came to our studio this morning to explain how it all went down. According to Buckley, Lewis has been tormenting him for some time but it all came to a head last week. He says it has nothing to do with taxi runs. Here his side of the story.

"I walk come down this way to the van, I jump behind the van, I just the say hey hump what the go on and then Humphrey's say boy it look like it is you they man are after but when I look down the street this man is on the phone, but he is saying something to someone on the phone but it looks like it is me they are after because I see his son, his son bring his woman , all of them are coming my direction, same Gerald Lewis."
"So they are coming my direction and I say what, what is going on here, this doesn't look normal so I jump up there and I went to the end of the water taxi as you are coming off the bridge."
"This man no walk pass me the first time and the stare me down in my eye but I am not paying him any mind because I see the vibes he is bringing. I could see he is here to kick off something."
"When he walked in, walked pass me, the man is staring me down again, he walked back pass me and then he stopped front of me and this man started to beat him in my face with his hand, beat me in my face."
"One spell I just threw this man one side, people scream out and thing."
"I Feel somebody just pick me up and slam me on the ground, put his knee in my chest and trying to pry out my eye the try dig my eye out, scratch up my face."
"I run out of the building, I run to my vehicle. When I do get to the door open the man is behind me coming but my van is parked here and another van is parked here and the man is coming towards me so I just had to pull out my machete and stand guard and position myself at my van."
"He dipped behind a vehicle and he pulled a cross and he is coming at me with the cross, I say this man must crazy."
"When he came with the cross I just fire a chop to frighten him but it caught him on his hand, he stone the cross at me and then he is trying to rush me so I came down with another chop and that is when he fell to the ground and then I just chop him again to keep him on the ground, then the African still the try bother with me, then his son turn over so, then the police lick a shot , then the crowd hostile towards me."

"So with this issue now what you the pretty much say is that it didn't have to do with a run, he just watch you hard and a big misunderstanding start?"

"He just decide to start beat on me. So I don't want people to think that we are out there fighting for taxi job, please take that out of your mind this is just a case of bullying and I just defend myself."
Buckley has been charged with aggravated assault. Buckley maintains that he did not start the fight and he was just defending himself when he chopped Lewis. Buckley says he lost his phone, and van keys in the skirmish.
