Organized Criminals Picked Up Cash Payroll
posted (July 30, 2018)
On Friday's news we had preliminary information of a large cash payroll that had been jacked on the northside. It was a calculated crime - where four men in an SUV rolled up on 35 year old Jaime Dominguez, cut him off and executed a big money robbery with ruthless precision.

Police told us more:..

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"On Friday just after 3pm, Project Manager for Usher Construction Mr. Jaime Dominguez had just collected $18,000 from the company and was going to an area to do payroll and whilst travelling on Apollo Street he stopped to pick up his mother. And he was driving off, a vehicle just blocked his way and four persons came out of the vehicle and held them at gun point. They opened the doors of the vehicle and stole a bag containing the $18,000 and other personal items belonging to him and his mother. And they made good their escape."

Reporter
"Again, clearly in terms of organized crime, he was being monitored. They knew that he was moving with a large amount of cash. Are you able to speak about who these operators might be or their level of criminal organization?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo "At this moment we don't have any suspects but we are looking at one of the groups committing the robberies across the city."

A written police report says it happened in Bella Vista, not Belama. That report also adds that the thieves got one large manila envelope containing $16,775.00 dollars belonging to Usher Construction Ltd, as well as an assortment of personal items including cash, cellular phones, laptop, and documents all to a total of $19,000.00 dollars.
