The Rush Fest International Youth Soccer Camp is held in Colorado, USA every year around July. Last year, the Warriors FC, the local club associated with Rush International, represented Belize well in the U-13 tournament. However, for a lack of funding Rush Belize didn't go to this year's fest. Nevertheless some members of Rush International did come to Belize to meet with young football enthusiasts. The contingent of 16 persons arrived in Belize yesterday and today they attended the Smart Stars Summer Camp, at the MCC grounds in Belize City. They stopped in for one day to work with kids as part of an ongoing training tour in Belize and Honduras in an effort to reciprocate the cultural exchange.
Rush International personnel will be in Belize for about 5 days where they will be conducting training sessions in Belize City, Belmopan and Caye Caulker. The Rush football program is designed to nurture the talents and skills of aspiring athletes in several countries and give them scholarship opportunities in the US as well as an avenue for them to seek careers as professional football players.
