posted (August 1, 2018)

Twenty-three year old Harry Montero was back in court today. Last week Thursday, police say they caught him and two minors in the Lord's Ridge Cemetery after they had allegedly robbed Harpie Security of two .38 pistols.

On Monday he was charged with kept a firearm without a license and today he was charged for robbery.  When he appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, Montero pleaded not guilty. He was denied bail and returned into remand - where he had been from Monday.

The minors - who police shot - have already been charged and gotten bail because of their injuries.

Their mothers are claiming their sons were shot while they were already detained and hand-cuffed on the ground. Today we spoke to the 16 year old's mother who told us that their attorney Dickie Bradley has officially lodged a complaint against the police for alleged use of excessive force. This 16 year old had a wound to his head, and was shot to the testicles. His mother told us he is making progress but remains bedridden as a result of his injuries.  The 17 year old was shot on the foot and his leg, and had a couple of other bruises on the head and lip and grazes on his arm.

Deputy Commissioner Chester Williams said they were caught int he commission of a serious crime - and are lucky to be alive.
