The Essential EMT’s
posted (August 1, 2018)

Many of us can't bear to see a drop of our own blood from a needle prick or a cut –but Emergency Medical Technicians  see it all – a lot of oozing blood, fractured limps, gunshot wounds, you name it. And for some BERT EMT's they have been on the job for almost 20 years. So today, to celebrate BERT workers, they held an open day at their headquarters off Coney Drive. We dropped by.

Susan Ferguson - Acting Operations Manager, BERT
"So today we are celebrating our 20th anniversary here at BERT and we are having an open day to celebrate this milestone."

Courtney Weatherburne
"So what activities do you have here for today?"

Susan Ferguson
"Right now we are doing free pressure and sugar check, you can also come in and get a chance to win several raffles that we have. We are showcasing our emergency services as well as training. For the past 20 years we wouldn't have been here without the hard work of all the employees. It is quite a challenging job, it is challenging work and you know our  EMT's are here sometimes 24 hours, 36 hours in a day so they are here sometimes risking their life just to save a life out there and so we need to appreciate all the hard work they do."

The open day ended at 5.
