Two More Alleged Murderers Get Bail
posted (August 3, 2018)
Two more alleged murderers are soon going to be home after being offered bail of $40,000.00.

They are 39 year old Kenneth Barrow and 35 year old Jervis Diamond Valencia. Barrow has been on remand for almost 6 years, for the murder of 19 year old Raheem Requena. Requena, a fourth former was ambushed and fatally shot in December, 2012.

Valencia is charged with the murder of 36 year old Moses Gonguez who was shot and killed on municipal election night, March 4, 2015. Police shot Valencia in his neck and chest in their effort to detain him.

They appeared today before Justice Herbert Lord. Both men were represented by attorney Oscar Selgado while Crown Counsel Sheringe Rodriguez represented the DPP's office.

Rodriguez objected to bail for both on the grounds that the offences are serious nature and carry a severe penalty. Selgado submitted that the delay in their trial is unreasonable. Justice Herbert Lord offered bail with the condition that they report to the police station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday: that they attend court on each and every adjourned date; that they do not interfere with any of the prosecution witnesses; that they remain in their homes from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a m; and that they do not go within 100 yards of the witnesses.

Because it is an expensive bail and arrangements have to be made, they were unable to meet the bail today, but are expected to do so by Monday.
