A 21 year old from Seine Bight is at the Southern Regional Hospital recovering from a gunshot to the jaw. He was shot at 10:30 last night in the village outside a home where he was attending a function. Police say it is a dispute between groups of young men:

"On Sunday August 5th, shortly after 10:40pm police responded to a shooting incident in Seine Bight Village, where upon arrival they observed Kadeem Augustine with an apparent gunshot injury to the lower jaw. At the time he could not speak, however, further investigations into this matter revealed that Augustine was socializing at a private residence in the village when he left to go to the back of the yard. During his time in the back of the yard is when he was shot by an unknown assailant. Police is seeking one person in connection with this investigation. No, we do not know the reason for him being shot but we know that there seems to be some ongoing misunderstanding between several youths in the area."
Police have a known suspect.
