Re-Registration Numbers Sag In Week 5
posted (August 7, 2018)
The Elections and Boundaries Department has released the numbers from the fifth week of the re-registration Exercise.

It shows that for the week of 29th July to 4th August, a total of Eleven Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty-Four (11, 544) applications were accepted. That's the lowest turnout recorded for any week so far - and it's down from 15 thousand five hundred the week before.

The elections and boundaries office notes that more applications have been received from rural areas as opposed to urban, which also happened in the 1997 Re-registration of Electors Exercise.

You are urged to go and re-register starting tomorrow at 9:00.
