Cops Catching Up With The Ring Of Robbers

Cowo also discussed the arrest of 18 year old Luis Beaton - the man who robbed Coney Drive fruit vendor Forty-eight year old Carlos Ortiz on Monday.

Cowo said they believe Beaton is part of a ring of robbers who are terrorizing businesses and vendors on the northside:

"Reference the attempt robbery of Mr. Carlos Ortiz, the fruit vendor on Coney Drive, police managed to detain a suspect minutes later on board a bus while he was travelling on Central American Boulevard. His name was learnt to be Luis Miguel Beaton. Based on the investigation, police have arrested and charged him for three offences: one for aggravated assault, one for attempt robbery and one for kept unlicensed firearm."

"Are you seeking any other suspects or is that the end of the investigation?"

"No, we are seeking two more persons."

"Anything about a minor?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"A minor was detained. That minor was arrested and charged likewise for the robbery of Griselda Molina, the tacos lady, which occurred on the 18th of July infront of the Shell office on the Phillip Goldson Highway."

"Are these guys organized? Is it one little group of criminals?"

"Yes, we believe that it is that same group that has been plaguing the North side of the City. And their modus operandi is scouting the areas that they want to hit and having a vehicle in standby waiting for them."
