And on the subject of the referendum….the Security Minister also had high level talks about it today. A release says John Saldivar met with senior members of the BDF, the Belize Coast Guard, and the Police Department at the Coast Guard base.
A Government release says that the the Ministry's position was articulated on the question put forward for the referendum - but, conveniently, does not say what that position is. The meeting also examined the National Defence Plan, in preparation for various outcomes on the referendum vote.
The Ministry of National Security said that it is fully aware that any decision from the Belize people in next year's Referendum will have an impact on the armed forces.
