A 30 year woman was charged for allegedly beating her 10 year old niece.
Thirty year old Nicole Polonio, a resident of San Juan area, San Pedro, allegedly accused the child of stealing money. The complains alleges that she squeezed the girl's neck, then threw her on a mattress on the floor and bit her. The child was given a medico-legal form and she was examined by a doctor who classified her injury as grievous harm.
Polonio was charged with grievous harm in court today. She pleaded not guilty and was released on a bail of $3,000. Her case was adjourned until October 16. The incident occurred on August 4 in San Pedro Town.
