Police are also investigating a hit-and-run in Corozal that claimed the life of a Xaibe villager. Last night, the cops were called out to an area between miles 74 and 75 of the Philip Goldson Highway, and that's when they found the body of a man and a damaged bicycle.
Investigators don't have much details about the case as yet, and today, they shared what they've been able to establish so far:

"On yesterday's date around 9 PM Corozal police visited an area between mile 74 and 75 on the Phillip Goldson Highway where they observed the body of a male hispanic person on the side of the highway with several cut wounds and severe damages to his head. Upon inspection of the scene a bicycle was found some 40 feet away from the body. The body has since been identified today as that of Vehelio Mena of Xaibe village - no other particulars for him as yet. Police are conducting an investigation into this matter, we are following several leads but so far no arrest has been made."

Anyone with information that can help investigators to find out exactly what happened to Mena on the highway are asked to get in touch with the cops from the nearest police station.
