Babies Escape Burning Camalote Home
posted (August 16, 2018)

Tonight, a 4 year-old girl from Camalote Village and her 6 year-old sister, are very fortunate to be alive after their house caught on fire. Their mother got them out in time, but at this time, the 4 year-old is now recovering from second degree burns.

Their mother, 24 year-old Anya Na, left them inside their home to go visit a neighbor in the same yard, but that’s the time when their wooden house caught fire, and spread quickly.

At today’s police press conference, the cops told us that the two young sisters were lucky that their mother responded promptly and saved their lives:

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Shortly after 7 p.m. last night, police responded to information of a house fire in Camalote Village, where, upon arrival, they observed a wooden structure completely engulfed in flames. Our investigation conducted led to interviewing the owner, one Anya Na, 24 years, who reported that she had just left her house to go over to her neighbour, when she was alerted by her 6 year-old daughter that the house was on fire. As a result, she rushed a crossed, and found that the house was indeed on fire. She was able to rescue her 4 year-old daughter, Unique Na, who received burns to her face, hands and feet, which were classified as 2nd degree burns. She's currently hospitalized at the Western Regional Hospital in a stable condition."

Fire officials are still finishing up their investigation, but they believe that the blaze was caused by faulty electrical wiring.
