The Elections and Boundaries Department says that up to Saturday, One Hundred and One Thousand, and Fourteen (101,014) persons had applied to re-register.
That's after Ten Thousand, One Hundred and Forty-One (10,141) applicants showed up to register in week 7, which ran from August 12th to the 18th. Week 7's numbers were a little better than week 6's which - at nine thousand, three hundred and twenty (9,320) applicants - was the lowest so far.
And week 8 started out a little bumpy in the Mesopotamia division where at the Grace Primary registration center - the exercise had to be taken outside. Seems the school administration needed to start cleaning in time for the new semester - so they were pushed out.
But, after a little open air re-registration, the situation was somewhat resolved as they were transferred to the school's library across the street. A release from the Elections and Boundaries Department says, quote, "unforeseen circumstances have forced them to move the Registration Center…to Grace Primary Library…"
