And finally, tonight, here are the winners of Saturday's National Song Competition.

In the Junior Belize Song Category, Huston Alvarez Jr., from Stann Creek, won first place with his song "Our Belize". Brishel Magdaleno and Shakira Welcome, representing the Cayo District, won second place with "Belize Da Fu We", while Toledo's Amiri "Prince" Gentle's "Soca Warrior" was awarded a special cash prize for his contribution.

The Senior Carnival Song category featured original songs which are intended for use during this year's September Celebrations, and the winners are:

Ernestine Carballo, for "I Love You Soca", with second place to Leslie "Bastic" Jenkins, for "Belize Dah Fi We Now and Forever" - he also won the people's choice award. The Break Out Artist in this category was Deidre Grinage, for "Belizean Wine".

The Belize Song category featured original songs which should reflect Belizean flavour, and also aims to inspire a sense of national pride and unity. The Belize Song winners for 2018 are:

Cecil "Cocono Bwai" Jenkins Jr., for "My Sweet Belize", The Runner Up was Aurlyn Flores, for "Belize Da Fu Wi", while the People's Choice was Dennis Requena, for "My Belize", and the Break Out Artist was Anika Perez, for "We Must Defend, 8867"
