4 masked robbers raided a West Landivar resident’s high rise apartment early this morning. The 24 year old female resident, who asked that her identity not be disclosed, was awakened by noises in her 4th floor University Drive apartment. When she went to look, she saw the 4 men. They tied her up and then ransacked the place. Police told us more at their bi-weekly press briefing.
ACP Joseph Myvett - Head, NCIB
"This morning shortly after 4 am Belize city police responded to the scene of an aggravated burglary on University Boulevard in Belize City where upon arrival a 24 year old legal assistant who occupies the 4th floor or upper flat of the building reported to them that shortly after 3:15 am this morning she heard a noise inside her apartment and upon coming out of her room to make checks she was approached by 4 dark complexion male persons who were all masked men who tied her up and ransacked the entire building where a number of electronic items and jewellery along with two firearms being a 9mm pistol and a 223 riffle were stolen by those persons. Also stolen was a vehicle that was left in her car by her brother in law."
Important to note is that police say there were no signs of forced entry. Police have no leads at this time. We note that the robbers knew well enough to find the DVR with the security recordings. It was later found discarded on the property, and was water damaged by the morning rains.
