posted (August 23, 2018)

While police are investigating that West Landivar aggravated burglary, they have charged a man in another armed robbery that happened on Monday on Landivar Street - also on the northside. He is 41 year old Western Avenue resident Eugene Tillett - who is well known to police and the courts.

As we told you on Monday, the victim is 79 year old Harold Williams. Williams pulled into his driveway in his Honda CRV near his house when Tillett allegedly broke the glass window of his vehicle and snatched an envelope with $15,000 in cash from the senior citizen. Here is what police had to say on Tillett’s arrest.

ACP Joseph Myvett - Head, NCIB
"Police have since arrested and charged Eugene Tillett 41 years for the crime of robbery as well as damage to property and are seeking two more suspects in regards to this investigation."

Reporter
"Is he cooperating with investigators?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"No."

Reporter
"Is he someone known to meddle in these types of activities?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"Yes he is known to police and as a result police also have one vehicle impounded in regards to this investigation."

Tillett went to court today and pleaded not guilty to the charges of robbery and damages to property. The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the offence was committed with a firearm. Senior Magistrate Ford upheld the objection and she remanded Tillett into custody until November 5th. Tillett was represented by attorney Dickie Bradley.
