A 23 year old mother was shot multiple times on her way to her aunt's Croton Lane home; fortunately she survived. The victim is Dawn Parchue. It happened on Friday night around midnight in the St. Martin's area. Her aunt says Parchue had left her home to run an errand and she was shot on her way back. But, it wasn't just one shot, police say she was shot four times to her stomach, and once to the leg. Still, even with all those injuries, Parchue still managed to ride back to her aunt's house. Parchue's aunt spoke to us off camera today.

"She was coming from up the street that direction when the shots ring off, all of us were sitting on the verandah. When I see her coming I… she came from up there yes riding a bike, coming here with 5 shots, 4 in the stomach and 1 in the leg. She told us she got shot but her mother didn't believe her and when we saw it was true, she was not joking, she did get shot."

"Well I would want to say that she was the target because she was the only person who was out there by herself. I don't really know why they would want to shoot her or who would want to do something like that I mean she is not a person, well I know she is upstart and she likes her mouth."
"She will defend herself at any cost, at the end of the day she will not make anyone take advantage of her or chance her."
"Well I don't really know what the situation is, I don't know why they target her or what is the reason they target her because I'm not getting the full story from anyone."
"But as far as my understanding she was in some quarrel with a person and the person followed her."
Parchue is in the hospital recovering. The family says that when they went to check on her yesterday she was responding well and walking around. Also to note, if the name Parchue sounds familiar it should, because her relative is the Pitts law Firm messenger Nyrere Parchue who was shot to head month on Freetown. A man was trying to rob his documents. He also survived and has been released from the hospital.
