Arthur Saldivar was denied an opportunity to run in Sunday's PUP convention in Belmopan, which left the path wide open for the favourite, Oscar Mira.
In a division with more than nine thousand registered voters, only 940 voters went out to vote at the Belmopan Comprehensive School campus, which the PUP blames on the rainy weather.

"Receiving 94 votes, Mr. Weisman. A round of applause. Receiving 171 votes Michelle Rodriguez. A round of applause. Receiving 653 votes, a new standard bearer for Belmopan Mr. Oscar Mira."
The next PUP Standard Bearer convention will be an endorsement convention for the Belize Rural Central constituency at a time, date and place to be announced.
