San Pedro Businessman Remanded For Firearm
posted (August 27, 2018)
Tonight, a San Pedro business man is sweating it out at the Belize Central prison after he was charged with an offence for which there is no bail. 40 year old William James Mulligan was taken to court late this evening and arraigned before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. He is charged for discharging a firearm in a public place on the beach of San Pedro Town.

His Attorney was Estevan Perrera and he pleaded not guilty. No bail could be granted since the offense fails under section 16 of the firearms act and he was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until October 31, 2018.

He was asked if he had a good reason why he should get bail - He said he is the father of 3 children but Magistrate Ford told him that is not a special reason.
