We met the DHS at THE Western Regional Hospital for the launch of a National Diabetes Self-Care Programme. The idea behind the three years, 185 thousand US dollar program is to make early interventions for persons who have diabetes, before they show up at public clinics and hospitals already in a dire state.
The DHS explained:
Today, equipment was handed over to the persons who will be implementing the program starting the end of September. The manuals are presently being completed.
