Lemoth Gets 15 Years For Taking Teen’s Life
posted (August 28, 2018)
For weeks now, we've been reporting on the case of 29 year old Justin Lemoth, who was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter one month ago in a trial without jury.

Well, he was sentenced today after Justice Adolph Lucas heard pleas for mitigation from Lemoth, his attorney, Leslie Hamilton and two character witnesses. He also listened to an victim impact assessment report that was read by Crown Counsel Shanice Lovell, which was provided by Richard Waight Sr, the father of the deceased.

Having considered all that, he sentenced Lemoth to 15 years today, and after subtracting 4 years and 5 months from his sentence for time spent on remand, he will only serve 10 years and 7 months.

In 2014, Lemoth fatally stabbed 17 year old Richard Waight Jr, during an altercation on a basketball court in Hattieville.
