Man Critical After Island Beatdown

A mob of angry bar goers attacked a pair of Caye Caulker residents. It happened on the island on Tuesday. Residents Amado Watson and American national Kathleen Perry were at a sports bar when they got into an argument with others. One thing led to another and the disagreement spilled outside and a group of people attacked Watson and Perry. Here is more.

"That same Tuesday just about minutes after 11:00, Caye Caulker police visited Pasero Street where they observed a male person who identified himself as Amado Watson, 47 year old Belizean of Avenida Hicaco. He was seen with a large cut wound in the back of his head and he was in an unconscious state. Also seen in the area was a US national Kathleen Perry, a 33 year old Belizean who is visiting Caye Caulker she was seen with a cut wound to her nose. Both of them were taken to the Caye caulker health center then transferred to the KHMH where Mr. Amado is admitted in stable condition at this moment. Ms. Kathleen was discharged and she is presently at the Caye Caulker police station making a report in reference to the incident. What happened is that police had found out that Ms. Kathleen Perry and Mr. Amado were socializing at a sports bar when an argument ensued between them and other persons inside the establishment. Thereafter, they came out of the establishment and the argument continued on the street until it reached on Pasero Street where Mr. Amado and Perry were attacked with stones and bottles which caused injuries to both of them."

Police have one person detained and are looking for another.
