He had been flipping breasts and thighs at one of Belize City’s busiest fried chicken joints, Key Lee for 8 years, but, it turns out, 40 year old Chinese national Yingyi Liang, was in Belize working illegally. Yesterday in court, he was charged with failure to comply with the conditions of his temporary work permit, and was fined $1,000 plus $5 court cost. Liang was ordered to pay forthwith and the Immigration Department applied for and was granted an order for Liang to be deported to China either after he has paid the fine.
Laing was given a temporary work permit for the June 17, 2010 to June 15, 2011. On August 27, he was picked up and detained by Immigration Officers who were on an operation in Belize City.
