posted (September 4, 2018)
42 year old Georgeville security guard Daniel Alford is dead. His body was found near his home on the Mountain Pine Ridge road after 5:00 yesterday evening. One report is that someone shot him while the police say that he tripped and accidentally shot himself on a hunting trip. It is a strange case because when we spoke with Alford's relatives today, they couldn't say for sure what happened. They were just heartbroken by their loss.

Shane Jeal, Brother
"Yesterday I saw him about around after 4:30. First thing I saw was his red bike, his new bike because he just bought a new bike then when I glance back again because I glance forward because some kids were sitting on the side of the road across from where he has his animal tie so I glance on them and I saw him and two of us raised our hands and waved at each other. Then I went about my business by the time I reach Santa Elena it was the fire chief Brenton Gentle say a security guard just get shot in Georgeville and I didn't pay much mind to it that it could be him. So it is when I was coming home my sister call me and tell me your brother get shot, I say how you mean my brother get shot, I say which one, she say Danny Alford and then I freaked out a bit because I tell her no you are joking because I just passed him a couple hours ago and I just hail him."

"So you guys don't know exactly what happened?"

Shane Jeal, Brother
"No we don't know exactly what happened so."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"Was anybody here at home since it happened nearby did they see them bring the body or anything."

Antonio Alford, Father
"No my wife was here with kids."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"Anything else you would like to add about your son, the relationship you had with your son, what person he was, how you will remember him?"

Based on the police report, Alford and two kids were hunting in the area when he fell climbing the hill and his gun went off and the bullet struck him in the stomach. Now again, there are conflicting reports because some relatives say Alford did not have his gun with him. Alford leaves behind 5 kids.
