Guinea Grass Family Claims Wrongdoing in Death At Cement Mixer
posted (September 6, 2018)

The family of Guinea Grass resident Jeffery Hernandez wants police to get to the bottom of their loved one’s death. As we told you, on Monday night, Jeffery Hernandez was cleaning a machine at his work place -AP Enterprise Cement block factory at mile four and a half on the George Price Highway. That is when someone turned on the machine. Hernandez was crushed inside. He died on the way to the hospital. What a terrible accident right? Well, the family doesn’t believe it was an accident at all. Here is the interview with Hernandez’s grandfather.

Balbino Batun - Grandfather (Translated from Spanish)
"The accident possibly happened about 10:00 at night and at 10:00 my nephew called his dad because he was the one of the sons who was working there and so the father called me that there was an accident. And so crying, the guy said that his cousin is trapped in the machine. So the police started to move and they said what the owner of the place was saying that it was an accident and Jeffery Hernandez fell inside the machine."

"They told me that he had finished working that he went to help, the supervisor said he just came to help so why did they leave him then? No one wants to take responsibility. The group that came said they don’t know and that they didn’t see and I said no, what I want is justice. The police needs to do their job. It looks bad because no one is saying the correct things. Everybody is saying different things. This guy was killed because of jealousy, for the good he has done and for the football player he is, it is something that someone did intentionally. The man said that he did it, he put on the machine and then he moved away with his friend."

Batun says that there were other senior employees who should have been there to do the job.
