Big Money Robbery At Top Shelf Liquor Store
posted (September 7, 2018)
There was a major armed robbery at a top shelf liquor store on the Northside of Belize City this morning.

At 10:25, 3 men entered Premium Wines and Spirits on Princess Margaret Drive, not far from BTL Park. They walked in as customers, without masks, but two of them suddenly pulled out guns and demanded money.

And they must have known something about the liquor store's money movement's, or they were the very lucky thieves. We say that because reports from police are that the company was about to make a deposit of $36,400 dollars - and all of it was stuffed into a knapsack, ready to be taken to the bank.

But the robbers weren't satisfied with that; they rummaged through the place, and got another $6,300 US dollars that had been set aside, and another $6,500 dollars from the cash register. That was a total of $56,139 stolen in cash alone, and for good measure, they took a pair of cell phones and a worker's gold chain.

After that they escaped through the back, walking calmly down Newtown Barracks street.

Police have not made arrests and are reviewing surveillance video.
