But Caye Caulker isn't the only spot that will get a fully decked out airstrip. Minister Heredia and his team are working on a plan to renovate the Placencia airstrip as well.

"We are already in the work plan for Placencia and I am sure that in the next couple of months I am hoping that something will be in the pipeline to see if we can get Placencia going."

Heredia says they are negotiating with Heritage Bank to get the funds secured for the Placencia airstrip project.
