And while McDonald was clearly the intended target of that execution, tonight, 43 year-old Jing Hui We, a Chinese Belizean from Mahogany Street is clinging to life after a gunman fired at his employee and missed.
It happened at around 12:20 yesterday afternoon on Lovely Lane - a gang affiliated area, when the 10th of September parade was finishing.
The victim, who is also known by his customers as "Ivan", was in his pick-up doing rounds, and he was leaving Lovely Lane after making a delivery at a shop on that street. While they were passing a bushy empty lot, a shooter took aim at his employee, Rogelio Selgado, and opened fire.
Selgado managed to take cover, and he tried to warn his boss to get down, but it was too late, and "Ivan" was hit to the right upper arm, the right side of his rib cage, and the left arm. He was immediately rushed to the KHMH, where he remains in a critical condition.

"On Monday, the 10th, just after the Citizens Parade, police reported to a shooting incident on Lovely Lane, where upon arrival, they were informed that a victim had been transported to the hospital. The victim's name was learned to be Jing Wu, a 35 year-old Belizean of Mahogany Street. What police have learned so far is that he was doing a delivery at that location, and was in the company of another person by the name of Rogelio Selgado, when they were alerted that somene came out of a nearby bushy lot, and fired several shots at their direction, hitting Mr. Wu. He is presently admitted at the hospital in a critical condition."

"Was there a robbery element?"

"There was no robbery element. According to the information that we have received, the target was the other person who was along with him, Mr. Selgado."

"Is it believed that this was a gang situation? I know that Mr. Selgado is from Majestic Alley, and you all already have your eyes on the shooter, who is in a rival area."
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Yes, that is one of the angles that we are looking at."

"Are you looking for somebody actively?"
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"One person is detained, and we're looking for someone else."

"Now, sir, this crime happened right within a few feet away from a checkpoint. I know the checkpoint may not have been active at that time, but there is a sign right there on Pickstock Street, at the junction with Lovely Lane. How can you explain something happening right at the checkpoint location?"
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Yes, there is a stagnant checkpoint there, but like I have been mentioning likewise, the police do not only remain there. The police patrol the immediate area, all around that area. And unfortunately, at that moment, the police was not at that location."

"We have seen so many shootings in that area, Pickstock Street to Victoria Street, and the areas in between. Is this an area that you all may have to look at as a special zone to be put in a state of emergency?"
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Well, that is something that the department will be looking, not only that one, but there are other places that are boiling up at this moment, that we have to be very cautious, before something happens."
We approached his friends and family at the KHMH, but they declined comment. They did tell us that the doctors aren't sure if he will recover.
