A Very Special Constable

The long weekend was for the tenth festivities, but what made it memorable was that police finally caught one of those drug planes. And more than that, at least two police officers have been implicated: Constable Norman Anthony was acting suspiciously near the scene, while Orange Walk Commander Superintendent David Chi has been placed on administrative leave pending, quote, "the investigation into his possible involvement in the illegal landing of this aircraft."

And on the periphery of all this is another far less noted development. Last week, when Chester Williams was acting Compol, police detained a special constable, who was a prominent member of the Orange Walk Quick Response Team, or QRT. He wasn't charged, but he was removed from the QRT. We asked the COMPOL today whether this played any part in the capture of the first loaded drug plane in decades:…
