Today, well over 3,000 kids packed the Belize Civic Center for the annual children's rally. 31 schools from the Belize district were invited. We dropped by for the big celebration.

"Well it is always a fun event and I am happy they are able to return the children's rally to the civic this year you know that used to be a fixture in the September calendar and we have been displaced for a number of years now and it was very heartwarming to see the children today in the civic center enjoying the wonderful facilities here and demonstrating their patriotism which is always very very good for our country."

"What are some of the activities you guys have planned today for the kids?"

"Well, they are being entertained but we are also encouraging them to put on display their patriotism. If you can see they have their flags, they are some patriotic songs, we have local artists, Oscar B also wanted so much to do something for the children and volunteered to come and perform for them today. So it is a fun time, celebrating and also trying to promote patriotism. My presentation to them this morning was for them to practice 4 character values. We will start on a campaign in our education system to promote character values education and the ones we promoted today are for them to be respectful, be kind, for them to be honest and for them to be patriotic so those are the four that I shared with them today and I ask that in the homes and wider community for us to embrace these character values so they are able to practice them on a daily basis so they can become better citizen of Belize."
