Girl Escapes Abductor in A White Car
posted (September 17, 2018)
Tonight, Belize City police are telling parents to be on high alert - after a man with a machete snatched a teenaged girl on Saturday afternoon - and took her in his car. It happened in the Martin's area - behind the Complex building. The very good news is that she got away - but the kidnapping has exposed the fact that there is a dangerous kidnapper on the loose - and he appears to be working in coordination with at least one other person.

Jules Vasquez has more:...

Jules Vasquez reporting
This is believed to be the car in which a kidnapper trapped a 15 year old girl.

She was walking here on Holy Emmanuel Street heading to LA Croix Boulevard - when she was pushed into the car:

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC - CIB
"It happened on Saturday the 15th. Just sometime after 3:00 pm. A minor was walking on Holy Emmanuel headed to La Croix Blvd. While she was walking, a vehicle stopped about 4 feet away from her and the back door of the vehicle was opened. There a person who was riding the bicycle on the same side as she was just push her inside of the vehicle and the vehicle sped away with the minor inside of the vehicle. She began screaming and she was threatened by the only persons inside of the car - who was the driver - with a machete. She was driven up to Homeland Memorial where the person demanded for her to take off her clothes. But whilst he went to open the door, the female managed to open the door and run for assistance. Fortunately she returned safe."

"She gave a description of the driver and of the vehicle. It's a white four door vehicle heavily tinted. We have other things to corroborate what she have said and that is what we are following up at this moment."

Reporter
"Did he say anything that..."

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC - CIB
"He did not say anything to her, just to keep quiet and demanded her to remove her clothes. That's all."

Police have a security video of this car in the area on Mahogany Street- a four door heavily tinted four door which resembles a Honda. Until they track it down - parents are urged to be careful:

ASP Alejandro Cowo, OC - CIB
"It is something for each parent to have in mind to be careful as to when they will send their children alone. Or if you are sending someone, always be on the lookout for them, not to send them at a very far distance. You always stand on the street side to see where your son or your daughter is going to."

Police have not found that car, nor do they have any suspects. We'll keep following the story very closely.
