And there is also another disturbing report of sexual violence - this one in the Corozal District. It happened last night in San Andres Village - which is on the outskirts of Corozal Town. A man attempted to rape a 17 year old girl as he pushed her off her bike. Police told us more:..

"Last night shortly after 7:30p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted rape in San Andres Village in the vicinity of the Rudolph Wade Auditorium where upon arrival a seventeen-year-old minor who was at the time accompanied by a six-year-old riding a bicycle in that area was pushed off her bicycle by a Hispanic male person. He then attempted to tear off her clothes; however a female who was in the area came to her assistance and the assailant fled the area. Police investigations have led to the detention of three persons; one of whom has been positively identified as the person who committed this act. He is detained pending charge at this time."
As you heard, police have the main suspect detained.
