Alert police nabbed a trio of home invaders on Sunday in Belize City. The men had just tied up the 5 Chinese residents of a home above a restaurant on Caesar Ridge Road on the Yabra area. But they missed resident #6. He was in the restroom when the home invaders came in, and bolted out to call the police. There was a fixed checkpoint - and an MIT patrol - and they sprung into action - catching the armed men as they were running out of the property. Here's what happened next:..
This was the scene at Fantaxia Restaurant yesterday afternoon as police loaded the three suspects into the back of their mobile. Onlookers know the three men very well.
They are all from the very same neighborhood. This is how they looked when police held them in the back yard of the same building that had climbed into earlier - gaining access through the back - and then tying up all five family members.

"Three male persons entered Fantaxia Restaurant located on Queen Charlotte Street. They entered through the back and they tied 4 of the persons that were inside of the building. One of them manage to escape and as a result he alerted the police. The checkpoint that was in that immediate area responded along with another police mobile and upon their arrival they observe 3 male persons fleeing from the building. They were captured and police found 2 firearms; one in a lot adjacent to the building and one inside of the building. The persons inside of the store untied and they were safe at that moment. They manage to get inside of the house and that is one of their modus operandi that whenever they get into the house whosoever inside of the house avoided resistance from them."

"The 3 of them wore masks. Police also found the masks on the scene."
The quick responding police were able to recover the two guns used in the home invasion:

"It was a 9mm pistol and .38 revolver that was recovered at the scene."

"Were monies recovered?"

"There was an amount of cash. Up to now cannot be ascertain how much, but it's not a big amount, personal cell phones and other small items. All of that was recovered from the 3 male persons."
The robbery surprised area residents who have are very familiar with the Chinese restaurant owners and the culprits:

"They are they are from that same area. The 3 male persons that were captured by police are Trevor Guy, Tyron Guy and Leon Wesley."
This suspect Trevor Guy has been charged before for a home invasion and for robbing a Chinese Store - and then getting caught in a shootout with police.
But, on this day, police were quicker, and got the suspects before they could escape.
23 year old Trevor Guy, 24 year old Tyron Guy, and 23 year old Leon Westby are held pending charges.
