Orange Walk Police have found a big gun - and our sources say, it may be one of their own. It was found in a cornfield which is located about 2 miles west of the Northern Road Airstrip.
A sweep of the entire area led police to this AR-15, 5.56 rifle, the type used by law enforcement. It also had a magazine which contained 5 live rounds of ammunition.
We're told the weapon may be linked to a police formation in the north. This is also an area where drug planes are believed to land, and the weapon could be tied to questionable law enforcement activity. We'll keep following it.
