posted (September 26, 2018)
The Supreme Court trial for accused murderers Andy Forbes, Clinton Fitzgibbon Harris, and William Vasquez started yesterday before Justice Collin Williams. These 3 men are accused of the June 2012 murder of 21 year-old Joseph Myers.

It happened at the Living Hope Preparatory School, on Maskall Street in Belize City. Joseph Myers was among a group hanging out on the verandah socializing when 2 gunmen snuck up from behind the building and opened fire on them.

4 were injured in the spray of bullets, but Myers was the only victim who died. Days after the shooting, police charged Forbes, Harris, and Vasquez, and since then, they've been on remand for over 6 years now.

Well, 3 witnesses have already testified in their trial without a jury. 2 of them are eyewitnesses, and they included one of the men who was injured in the attack. He identified 2 of the accused men, Harris and Forbes, as the shooters. Another of the shooting victims, also took the stand, and he also identified Harris and Forbes as the shooters.

Forbes is being represented by attorney Simeon Sampson, while Vasquez and Harris are being represented by attorney Nigel Ebanks. Crown Counsel Killeru Awich is prosecuting the case.

The trial has been adjourned until Friday, September 28.
