There were two daring armed robberies this week in Corozal. The first happened last night at around 9:00 at a 7th Avenue and 5th Street Chinese store. But what is interesting in this case is that based on the report, the police showed up as the four robbers dressed in black came out of the store. One of the men pointed the gun at police and the men just scrambled off with the money they jacked. But police may have a lead in this case as they have detained a suspect who was found with a homemade gun.
Then the night before, on Wednesday at 7:00, two men robbed G Street's Aqua Fina Purified Water. Businessman Roy Reyes was standing outside the store when two men approached him. One of them had what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun. He pointed the gun at Reyes and then snatched an undisclosed amount of money. Two customers were also robbed of their personal belongings. Police have one person detained and the investigation continues.
