One Dead, One Critical in OW Cycle Shooting Spree

There was a frenzy of gun violence in Orange Walk on Sunday morning where two 25 year old men were shot within minutes of each other, and a few hundred feet apart. One man died, the other is critical.

The first shooting happened early on Sunday morning at about half past midnight. 25 year old Samuel Castro was standing in front of a gate on Muffles Street when a shooter on a motorbike did a drive-by. He was shot four times. Police told us more:...

"On yesterday's date sometime around 12:45am, Orange Walk police responded to a report of a shooting on Muffles Street, Orange Walk Town, where upon arrival, one Samuel Castro was seen on the ground in an unconscious state and his motorcycle was on his foot. As a result he was removed from there and taken to the Northern Regional Hospital where he succumb to apparent gunshot injuries. Upon examination of the body it was found that he had one apparent gunshot wound to the right lower back and 3 to the left arm. Initial police investigation revealed that the deceased Samuel Castro was outside of a residence on Muffles Street when it is reported that 2 male persons on a motorcycle stopped near him and fired several shots at him which caused his injuries. Police investigation into this matter is ongoing."
