Fit For The Queen’s Honours

Eight Belizeans, six men and two women went to Belmopan today to get their Queen's New Year's Honours from Governor General, Sir Colville Young.

Leading the list, as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire is Doug Singh, for his contributions to Commerce and Industry and Community Leadership.

Dinesh Bhojwani and John Longsworth were honoured as OBE's, or Ordinary Officers of the British Empire. Bhojwani, for his contribution to Commerce and Industry and Community Leadership, and Longsworth, for his contribution to Public Service.

Receiving the honour of Ordinary Members of British Empire, or MBE's were Kin Yin Cheng of Chon Saan, for contribution to Business and Community Service, Manuel Cowo for contribution to Community and Religion; Jeaneane Vaneasa Neal and Joel Westby for contribution to Education and Community; and Justice Marilyn Williams, for contribution to Public Service and the Legal Fraternity.
