The 17 year old San Ignacio resident was found dead at the Cahal Pech Mayan Temple on Sunday morning. His throat had been slit - but a post mortem found that he died from a stab wound to the chest. Investigators suspect that his killers chose to kill him at a Mayan temple for some occult reason.

So far, sources tell us Cayo police have put together a thorough investigation, including recovering the murder weapon - along with other evidence, and getting a caution statement from one of the youths.

But, they have not been charged tonight because the case file is pending review from the DPP. The file is being carefully reviewed, most likely because two minors will be charged for murder. They are currently students at the same high school in Benque Viejo.
