Busted For Four Mahogany Logs

Three men were caught with 4 mahogany logs, or about 500 feet of lumber for which they had no permit.

They are Contractor, 53-year-old Gilroy Ciego from Jane Usher Boulevard, 53-year-old Santos Garcia, a naturalized Belizean and Carpenter from Lord's Bank and 55-year-old Alvin Robinson, a Fisherman from mile nine and a half, George Price Highway. They were all arraigned late this evening in the Belize City Magistrate's Court before Magistrate Michelle Trapp in Court #4.

The trio were read a single charge of unlawful possession of forest produce. They all pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Michelle Trapp granted them all bail of $5,000 dollars which they were all able to meet by 4:30 this evening.

Yesterday morning in Lords Bank, Forestry found them in possession of 4 Mahogany logs amounting to 484.8 board feet for which they had no permit. They transported the logs ot Lord's Bank on the river.

This is one of many other forestry busts made countrywide in the past two weeks.
