Teenaged Killers Charged, Confessor Claims It Was “Emo” Ritual
posted (October 10, 2018)
Last night, we told you how police had made major headway in their investigation of the murder of 19 year-old Bobby Garcia.

He was the high school student from San Ignacio who was found dead on Sunday morning atop a temple in the Cahal Pech Mayan site, which is located in his home town. He died from a stab wound to chest, and his throat was slashed.

Today, the police got the directive from the DPP's office to charge their two teenaged suspects, aged 14 and 15 with Garcia's murder. They have since been arraigned on the offenses of murder and conspiracy to commit murder, and they have been remanded to prison until December 10th. They were both students at Mopan Technical High School.

Sources tell 7News that police recorded a caution statement from one of the 2 minors in which the young man confessed to the killing, telling investigators that Garcia's murder was an initiation ritual for him to be accepted into an Emo cult. It's a disturbing case of youths being misguided by other persons, but we've since learned that the 14 year-old has had a very troubled past.

Our information says that the 14-year-old's father committed suicide by hanging several years ago, and his stepfather was shot at their home in Orange Walk some years ago.
