7News has confirmed that there is a mini purge happening at the Orange Walk police formation. This is after two officers in that district - including Orange Walk Town Commander, David Chi - were charged for landing a drug plane one month ago. Reports tell us that It's apparent to the new Commander, ASP Juanito Cocom that the narco's, or their agents have infiltrated the formation and compromised other officers. He reportedly requested the transfer of 20 officers. Reports confirm however that only 5 transfers were approved.
Orange Walk police have also reportedly moved to fire a special constable - who was a person of interest in a recent round of detentions of suspects believed to be involved in the narcotics trade.
