Cops Mum On Bobby Garcia Murder Investigation
posted (October 11, 2018)

On last night’s news, we told you about the two male minors, ages 14 and 15, who have been arrested and charged for the weekend's strange murder of 19 year-old Bobby Garcia, a resident of San Ignacio Town.

Our sources told us that the investigators got what is believed to be the murder weapon, and they recorded  a caution statement from one of the minors who confessed to the killing, saying that he participated in it as part of an initiation ritual to join an emo cult.

It is a matter of intense public interest, more so because the Cahal Pech Archaeological Site was used to kill this teenager, and so the press tried to get additional information out of police. But, today the police spokesperson didn’t say much:

Reporter
"Have you confirmed whether the accused minors confessed to the crime?"

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino - CIB
"I do not know that information."

Daniel Ortiz
"Can you confirm that police recovered what is believed to be the murder weapon?"

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"I don't have that information either."

Reporter
"Could you confirm then if the incident is related to occult activity?"

Insp. Wilfredo Ferrufino
"There's no indication at this point from the investigation that is a occult related activity. However, the investigation is ongoing, I'm sure that the officers are looking into all aspect of this incident and if anything else is unearthed then, we review on that."

The teenagers - both students of Mopan Technical High - have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
