7 hours later, another older man would be shot by a teenager. 36 year old Kevin Thomas was at a corner store buying something when a teenager came up from behind and shot him in the head and abdomen. Thomas fell to the ground, while the teenaged gunman dashed off. But, not before a special constable pulled his licensed weapon and shot the youth.
Police told us more:

"What police understand is that Mr. Thomas was buying at the Chinese store at the corner of Yarborough Road and East Collet Canal when a gunman approached him and fired several shots. When the suspected shooter was leaving the scene, he was encountered by a special constable and the special constable was armed. He fired shots at the suspect and the suspect fled the area leaving the firearm not too far from the scene. Moments later about half an hour later, a male person was transported to the KHMH, one Shardon Gilliter, 18 year old of Iguana Street Extension address. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He is under police guard at the KHMH in a stable condition. That matter is being investigated at this time."

So, tonight Thomas is in a very critical condition - while the youth believed to have shot him is being treated for gunshot wounds to his leg and is under police guard.
