Yesterday morning, the mother of a 5 year old girl visited the station with her child.
She reported that sometime between 8:30and 8:45 the night before, she left home to buy food leaving the baby alone and asleep. Her husband was out drinking at Secret Beach with friends.
When she got back home, she found that someone had turned out the lights and locked the door. She knocked and her husband - who is her child's stepfather - opened the door. He was nude and the baby ran to her crying, with blood on her pajama bottoms. The child indicated that her stepfather had done something to her genital area.
A medical examination certified that the child was carnally known.
This evening, police charged police formally arrested and charged a 31-year-old Salvadorian National for the Rape of a Child.
