Matthew Moore is Free After Years On Remand
posted (October 17, 2018)
In June of this year, we told you about 29 year-old Matthew Moore. He's one of several defendants accused of murder who got bail in the last few months because he had been on remand for many, many years waiting for the DPP's office.

Well, he got more good news today when his case was called up before Justice Colin Williams. The judge explained to him that he was a free man because the DPP's Office has decided to discontinue prosecution against him. Crown Counsel Kileru Awich, who represented the DPP's Office, told the court that they were entering a nolle pros and discontinuing the case against Moore due to lack of evidence.

28 year-old Andrew Moses, a working man, was gunned down on the evening of March 10, 2011. He was on the way home from work, and while he was riding his bicycle at the corner of Kraal Road and Ross Penn Road, a gunman approached him from behind and shot him several times to the chest, the abdomen and the leg. He died as a result of those gunshots.

Moore was arrested a month later, and he had been on remand for 7 years, until June 15th of this year, when Justice Williams granted him bail. He still has a pending case for attempted murder.
