Belize Peace Movement (Finally) Speaks On ICJ Meeting
posted (October 18, 2018)

Last week Wednesday, you saw the anti-ICJ Belize PEACE Movement meeting in Belmopan with   a cross section of supporters and interested parties, including the PUP southern caucus.

But while we waited until the meeting finished, we don’t know what they discussed.  Today, a “one-week-later” release from the Peace Movement says, quote, “Of particular concern was the GOB handling of the ICJ education campaign and the apparent collaboration of the Opposition Party on this matter.” End quote.

The meeting agreed to Organize and establish offices in strategic locations, Internationalize the NO to ICJ campaign, and a call for greater participation of civil society including the Unions and Business Community in the awareness campaign.

The group says further meetings are scheduled and activities will step up as the date for the referendum on the ICJ draws near.
