Turning now to crime, a 49 year old Belize City man has died after he was shot 8 days ago.
On the afternoon of Monday October 15th, Saldano was riding on Haulze Street in the St, Martin's area when he was shot in the back.
His internal organs were badly damaged, and today, the father of two died from those injuries. We spoke to his brother, Edward - who told us he had been in an induced coma:...

"He died 2 minutes after 1 today. He was in coma for 5 days and then finally the doctor said they would take the machine off and see if he would respond. But there was no response."

"So he's been unconscious from the day he got shot?"

"From the day he got shot and they put him to sleep. They say he bullet burst up his inside and the only thing was functioning was his heart. Finally, the doctor says that that would collapse too and so says was so done. It collapse with him. They chance my brother."
Saldano had been shot three times before and survived. He was known as "Geronimo" in his Plues Street neighborhood.
