Two Alleged Murderers Get Free 7 Years Later
posted (October 29, 2018)
After 7 years on remand, two men are free of murder charges tonight. 35 year old Ashton Anderson and 25 year old Christopher Sosa were freed of the charge today when a nolle pros was entered by Crown Counsel Killeru Awich before Justice Colin Williams.

The pair had been accused of the home invasion murder of 53 year old taxi driver Romel Palacio Sr.

But there was no witness to testify since neither of the two eye witnesses wanted to come to court to testify.

With that, the men skipped out of court, breathing freedom for the first time in 7 years. A jubilant Sosa told a court reporter he didn't even know who the deceased was:…

Palacio was killed in his bathroom in June of 2011 when two men, both of them armed with firearms, entered his house and shot him several times. Shortly after the shooting, police went to a wooden house on J R Street and found one .38 revolver with 4 rounds of ammunition in its chamber and one 40 caliber pistol with no ammunition in its magazine. Anderson and Sosa were in the house at the time, reported the police. The pair was represented by attorney Oscar Selgado.
